Frequently Asked
Questions?
What is asbestos?
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fiber that can be harmful when inhaled, often found in older building materials like insulation, flooring and siding.
Why is asbestos removal necessary?
Asbestos can lead to serious health issues like lung cancer and
mesothelioma, so it needs to be removed properly if disturbed. If
you are working in a building and you suspect that building
material might contain asbestos, stop working immediately. It is
important that you NOT disturb the area suspected of containing
asbestos in order to limit the number of asbestos fibres released
into the air.

Why did we use asbestos in the construction of buildings in the first place?
Asbestos was one of the main sources of insulation before 1990
because it not only keeps heat in, but noise out. It was also used
for fireproofing at that time as asbestos is heat and fire resistant.
Now we know better!
How can I tell if something contains asbestos?
You usually can’t tell by looking, so you should have a

How long does it take for mould to grow after water damage?
Mould can begin to grow within 24-48 hours after water damage
occurs. It’s important to have water damage cleaned up and
dried as quickly as possible to prevent mould growth.
Is mould visible or can it be hidden?
Mould can be visible or
hidden. If you smell a musty odor, see signs of water damage, or
